Meet the Facilitator
Hi I'm Danielle!

I graduated from UC Irvine with a BA in Theater. It was here I discovered a love for developing community through a movement practice called Viewpoints. There was a group of us that loved it so much, we would sneak into the theater at night and practice Viewpoints! It became a way for us to connect as friends, have a consistent ritual, and to have a physical, creative outlet. This is very much the vibe I bring to Sacred Movements.

Over the years, I found a deep connection to my own ancient island heritage (I am Filipina!) and indigenous traditions around the world. In my search for self-discovery, I found myself on the islands of Maui, Puerto Rico and Ibiza. These three places had a common and very meaningful thread: full moon bonfires with drumming circles. The atmosphere of being under the moonlight, on a beach and dancing to live drums around a fire was electric. It created a healing that I felt in my bones.

The most recent part of my journey brought me back to my home in California where I reconnected to the beauty and joy of dance. Dance as a professional practice with ballet in the bay area and then 5 Rhythms & dance as therapy through silent disco on beach sunsets in Los Angeles, then dance as sacred ceremony through Native American and Hawaiian Hula traditions with a Hula Kumu (Hawaiian Hula Master Teacher) in Topanga.

I felt so inspired by this journey!

And so, Sacred Movements was born to merge the elements of creativity, community and ceremony.
