FAQ
What is a dance journey?
A dance journey is a guided movement experience where music, rhythm, and the body are used as tools for expression, release, and connection. There is no prior dance experience needed — you’re simply invited to move in whatever way feels natural to you.

If you’ve never heard of or been to an ecstatic dance, think of it as a space where people dance freely without choreography, judgment, or performance. There’s no right or wrong way to move — the focus is on listening to your body and letting the music guide you.

How is this Dance Journey different from others?
This experience is intentionally facilitated and guided through 9 distinct cycles of movement and energy — a framework I’ve developed through years of working in dance, movement, education and wellness. Each cycle supports a different quality of movement, emotion, and nervous-system state, helping participants gently arrive, build energy, express, release, integrate, and land. Learn more about the 9 Sacred Movements HERE.

Throughout the journey, I offer verbal guidance, imagery, and invitations that help shape the arc of the experience. These guided moments are woven together with periods of open, free-form dance, giving you both structure and spaciousness. You’re always welcome to follow the guidance or simply move in your own way.

This blend of facilitation + free play is what makes this dance journey different from many ecstatic dances that are entirely self-led. It creates a container that feels supportive for first-timers, families, and experienced dancers alike.
